The development of
lasting public-private partnerships is essential to the success of our
health care delivery system. Immunization partnerships, in particular,
work to support health care professionals in delivering immunization services
in a high-quality, low-cost manner, and can provide effective strategies
for increasing immunization coverage. In recognition of the important
role that public-private partnerships play in the delivery of immunizations
to children, the AAP has chosen to highlight the following successful
public-private partnerships!

Arizona Partnership for Immunization (TAPI)
A community-based
initiative that includes private health plans, Arizona Immunization Program
Office, voluntary service organizations, businesses, pharmaceutical companies,
other governmental/public health agencies, and professional provider organizations.

Training
on Immunizations for Practitioners and Staff (TIPS) in Seattle-King County
The TIPS
project is intended to provide peer-based immunization education program
targeting immunization providers in their practice setting. It is an enhancement
of Vaccine For Children (VFC) program site visits, designed to provide
education to all staff and be tailored to issues identified at VFC site
visits and by the practice. Key Words: Public-private partnerships,
provider education, immunization training, quality improvement in clinical
practice, reduced delay in immunizing at appropriate ages, cost-effectiveness.
Immunization Project of Texas Children's Hospital
This immunization
project is designed to help Texas Children's Hospital Integrated Delivery
System achieve its vision of committing to a community of healthy children
by providing the finest possible pediatric patient care, education and
research. Information about the Raising Immunization Through Education
Project and the Houston-Harris County Immunization Registry is provided.
